Lets Start This Thing

I guess now is as good a time to start this Fighting the Fat Mission.

The Plan: What you can expect from me:



  • List day to day meals including drinks and snacks (can't go without snacking). this bit will be hard to keep to for me but will give it a go.

  • List body sizes each week and work out change. (body sizes to include Thigh, Arm and Waist)

  • Regular wight updates (i will be using pounds lb)

  • Photo updates of front and side profile

So first off lets check out my weight and body sizes:

Weight = 235lb (16.8 Stone) Didn't expect that!!!!! OMG

Body Measurements:

Arm (mid bicep) = 39cm (15.3 Inches)

Waist = 112cm (44 Inches)

Chest = 115cm (45.2 Inches)

Thigh = 64cm (25.2 Inches)

As you can see from the body stats i am not a small guy, i didn't really expect them to be that big so i have surprised/shocked myself.

After looking at the body stats I'm going to set my a goal weight at:

196lb (14 stone)

I feel at this point trying to remove about 40lb will be hard but is possible. i know its not going to be an easy mission to complete but i am determined to do it.

I will try and add some pictures of my body (Reluctant to do) at some point this week.

I will be going away next week and i am hopping that i can keep to the rule and not give in to the odd ice cream of cake lol. my next blog will be the in the week starting 7th September i hope by this time that i have lost at least 3-4lb's.

Fighting the Fat.

Hello to one and all. I am Chunky Monkey (that's what the gf likes to call me) and this is my first ever blog.

This blog will be about my mission to loose the spare tyre that is sitting around gut using the Atkins diet, (Low Carb)

I will try and update the blog as much as possible and put as much information on as can about my progress, what i have eaten, what has help or hindered me and what i have found out along the way.


Why am i doing this online?

I am doing this online because i have not stayed with any type of diet in the past, its not the sort of thing i like doing (Who does), i feel with the blog i will get the support from people to push me on so i reach my end goal, also i can see my own progress, see how i and my body has changed. i like a lot of people give up when i cant see any change, this way i will be able to view the pictures and read the charts, following the good and the bad points of my mission. hopefully inspire others to follow.


Why do i want to diet?

There are 3 main reasons why i want to get rid of the fat: (not in any particular order)

The first one is the normal one, i want to be able to play and have fun with my kids without puffing, panting, collapsing on the floor and then give up and go home after 5 mins.

The second one is how gutted i was when my gf came back from shopping with size 40 jeans !

The third is that i want to change my career from College Lecture to Police Officer (QLD) and i can't get through the medical at the weight i am.
